Complex Full-bodied with Sweet Fruity Aftertaste
This premium-grade organic Sencha brews an exquisite, refreshing liquor, with rich and complex aromas, and a fruity aftertaste

The producers take special care in crafting this Sencha to provide you with a truly exceptional tea-drinking experience. With its refreshing aroma and fruity aftertaste, this tea is sure to captivate your senses and become your favourite choice for a premium Sencha tea. They use a unique steaming process that is slightly longer than the traditional medium, futsūmushi method, but not as deep-steamed fukamushi. This brings out the original aroma and flavour of the Okumidori cultivar to perfection. The leaves are then fired slightly, adding depth and richness to the taste.

A note about the Okumidori Cultivar: The Okumidori cultivar is known for its late-maturing nature and is harvested towards the end of the tea harvesting season. It is well-regarded for its strong taste and aroma, making it a popular choice for Matcha production.

About the Tea Garden:

This Sencha comes from a small tea garden operated by husband and wife farmers/producers deep in the mountains of Yabe Village, Fukuoka, Japan. Established by his grandfather, this 3rd generation farm specializes in high-grade mountain-grown Sencha and Gyokuro. The mountainous village, blessed with cool weather, is covered with snow in winter. Due to these conditions, the tea leaves in the mountains bud later than their counterparts on flat lands. Furthermore, there are fewer pests and the tea plants are able to grow without the use of chemicals, leading to the production of natural organic tea leaves.

These farmers have received Japan's highest agricultural prize, and the Minister's Award, three times. They are one of Japan's highly regarded farmers.
