Elegant Taste Notes with Smoky-Sweet Aroma, and Fruity Aftertaste
This premium-grade organic Matcha Genmaicha brews an exquisite mild smoky-sweet liquor, typical herbal Umami notes, and roasted nutty aromas
This Matcha Genmaicha is made with only the highest quality sencha tea leaves from the first spring harvest and our farmer's own homemade Matcha powder, blended with roasted rice from the local Kyushu region, Japan's southernmost island.
This first-class Matcha Genmaicha boasts a nice, slightly smoky-sweet aroma and a light, yellowish-green colour that makes the tea velvety, soft, and rich in typical, herbal, and Umami notes without bitterness, and a fruity aftertaste. With its fragrant roasted nutty aroma and mellow Matcha flavour, our tea is enjoyed by all - from children to the elderly - and is known for its calming and relaxing effects.
For the perfect cup, steep the tea in hot water at 90°C for about a minute. Use approximately 3 grams (1 teaspoon) for every 150ml of water, and enjoy up to three steepings.
This Matcha Genmaicha comes from a small tea garden operated by husband and wife farmers/producers deep in the mountains of Yabe Village, Fukuoka, Japan. Established by his grandfather, this 3rd generation farm specializes in high-grade mountain-grown Sencha and Gyokuro. The mountainous village, blessed with cool weather, is covered with snow in winter. Due to these conditions, the tea leaves in the mountains bud later than their counterparts on flat lands. Furthermore, there are fewer pests and the tea plants are able to grow without the use of chemicals, leading to the production of natural organic tea leaves.
These farmers have received Japan's highest agricultural prize, and the Minister's Award, three times. They are one of Japan's highly regarded farmers.
