Complex Full-bodied with Mellow Sweetness
This premium-grade organic Sencha brews an exquisite liquor, with a refreshing and complex aroma, mellow sweetness, and moderate astringency

Our Sencha tea comes from the family's oldest tea field, which was planted in 1955 by their father, a second-generation tea farmer. These Yabukita cultivar tea plants have been growing for over 60 years, twice as long as the typical lifespan of a tea tree. The resulting leaves have a unique aroma and complexity that sets them apart. The Yuki Furu Yama Sencha has a balanced profile of amino acids, catechins, and caffeine, and is characterized by a refreshing aroma with a mellow sweetness and mild astringency that is distinct to mountainous regions.

The Hachijyuhachiya production of Sencha is harvested on the 88th day of spring in the lunar calendar, which is known to be the most delicious time for tea. Try this premium Sencha for a truly exceptional tea experience.

About the Tea Garden:

This Sencha comes from a small tea garden operated by husband and wife farmers/producers deep in the mountains of Yabe Village, Fukuoka, Japan. Established by his grandfather, this 3rd generation farm specializes in high-grade mountain-grown Sencha and Gyokuro. The mountainous village, blessed with cool weather, is covered with snow in winter. Due to these conditions, the tea leaves in the mountains bud later than their counterparts on flat lands. Furthermore, there are fewer pests and the tea plants are able to grow without the use of chemicals, leading to the production of natural organic tea leaves.

These farmers have received Japan's highest agricultural prize, and the Minister's Award, three times. They are one of Japan's highly regarded farmers.
